The event has been extra meaningful with the attendance of the Civitan Philippines’ prime mover, Dr. Tess Yambot, who has also recently engineered the creation of Civitan Ilocos Club. CivitanPhilippinesis the latest institution which threw its full support to IFA, believing in its noble cause.
It was a day filled with clean fun as young players pit their athletic wares against each other, giving their all while observing fairness and sportsmanship at all times during their matches. At the end of the day, it was the seasoned Young Pinoy FC which grabbed the championships title.
“Tournament such as this one is very effective in confidence building for our young players”, quips Coach Bobby. He adds, “Though training can teach the required skills and techniques of the game, it’s in playing in tournaments that tactics and strategies are acquired, learned, and honed.”
Alongside with that, as proven time and again, this football festival is a good platform for the young players to meet new friends, socialize, and build camaraderie among fellow players. That’s why it’s no surprise that when it’s parting time, the players could hear muttering a comeback next year as they bid each other goodbye.
The football fever lives on.
