Tang Elias with his 100th birthday cake |
Fall 2008 will be remembered by the Rol family of Kaimuki, as the time they got together as one big happy family, where they would honor and celebrate Tatang Elias Rol's 100th birthday. On yesterday's great occasion, they would use it to remember all the great lessons they learned from him as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that would stay with them forever.
And so yesterday at lunch time on a beautiful partly sunny day of September 21, 2008, we partied and celebrated the 100th Birthday of Tatang Elias Rol at Disabled Veterans Hall on Nimitz Highway in Honolulu, attended by many of his Kailians, long-time friends and family relatives, some of them came as far as Alaska, California and the Big Island of Hawaii Grande.
With family and friends |
Tatang Elias, still looking strong even though he can not walk by himself anymore was in good spirit, cried with joy when he saw many of his friends, relatives and especially the many Rols who came by and wished him many more birthdays for him to come.
Entertainments of the party were given by his many grand nieces who performed like dancing the Hawaiian Hulas by Brittney (Manong Celio and Manang Rosa Pascua's granddaughter), Ruby Costales, Rheanne Gutierrez and singing performances by his grandnieces Tiana Fidel and Anela Tolentino.
The Rol family wants to thank Manang Lynne Gutierrez for emceeing the party and the many relatives and dear friends who made Tatang Elias' beautiful party possible.
