Message from the MOA Secretary

It's been a few weeks since our grand coronation but I know everyone is still talking about it!  It was truly a beautiful night!

We had about 300 guests attend in their more grandeur gowns and suits!  The facility was elegantly decorated by none other than MOA's go-to event decorator, Mrs. Estela Rabara.  A great dinner was served by the wonderful staff of Hilton Hotel.  Great music by the Fusion Band of Stockton echoed through the ballroom.  Dancing queens and kings twisted and turned on the dance floor with ease!

Let us not forget the stars of the night, the Royal Court.  2nd Princess, Ariana rocked a deep purple gown that fit her petite stature perfectly!  Lea, our 1st Princess, was the lady in dark red, perfect for the Valentine's month.  Of course, our Queen, Leyanne.  She dazzled us with a white shimmering Cinderella ball gown!  She looked great, truly fit for a Queen!

On behalf of the officers and BODs of MOA, I'd like to thank everyone for coming and supporting our organization.  It was indeed another very successful night for MOA and we pray for continued support in our future events!

Sincerely,

Darelle FayeMarie Panlasigui Lu
MOA Secretary

Message from the MOA President

Friends, townmates and fellow members,

Our euphoric and 3rd Triennial Miss Magsingal of America and Town Fiesta were emceed awesomely by our Legal Counsel Atty. Gloria A. Florendo and Mr. Julius S. Suero, both lifetime members. The former has just arrived from PH to spearhead a Medical Mission by her AAA-SJ group in her province of Abra and the latter is an EVP of Cabugao Assoc. Their characterization, expertise and professionalism made our event devoid of boredom.

The touted Coronation and Fiesta (TFC Barangay Billboard/Asian Journal Newspaper/ Face Book/Emails) kicked off with the US and PH national anthem sung by future singing sensations Danica Foronda (10) and Kayla Talania (8) respectively. Watch out! These duo are budding American Idol, X Factor or The Voice Contestants.

Invocation was conducted by MOA Adviser and lifetime member, Mrs. Flora Foronda-Tadena. Although quite limping and octogenarian, she came with high spirits and led the prayers. She's one of the few surviving 12 and 1st graduates of St. William's Institute (my alma mater) in 1951. Nowadays, SWI proudly produces graduates in the hundreds. Kudos!

During the course of the dinner, attendees were peppered with lot of performers and entertainers while devouring with their salmon and steak dinner. Notable singer present was one of the lucky finalist of Fox X-Factor, Ellona Santiago.
.
Rare and MOA Presidential Awards were awarded to Treas. Lani Pangaliman and Sec. Grace Panlasigui-LU for their exemplified and outstanding services for our organization. Plaques of Appreciation were also given to the families of the Royal Court.

Our distinguished guest speaker was introduced by our VP Juliet Atanaya-Harris. He's, Hon. Rene de los Santos, PH Tourism Director for Northwestern USA and Western Canada based at the PH Consulate Office in San Francisco, CA. He energetically promoted the slogan "More Fun in the Philippines". It's annually sponsored by the Ambassador's/ Consul General's and Tourism Directors slated for July 9-15, 2013. Discounted packages are still available on a first come first serve basis for everyone @ $1,933.00. For more information, please contact SF Consulate-Tourism at ((415) 956-4060.
