New paving between SWI and the Church

The 'Paving the road between the church and the school Project' is a tripartite project of the SWI Grand Global Reunion 2011, the church and the school (SWI). The SWI Grand Global Reunion 2011 initiated the project.

We had to ask permission from the National Museum of the Philippines, The National Commission on Culture and the Arts, and the Archdiocese - a lengthy exercise.

The total budget is a big sum of P938,000, that is why we had to look for project partners.  When I discussed our plan to Father Flor Rebebes and also to Sister Remedios Cayetano (the new SWI directress), they welcomed the idea.

This road is easily flooded and gets muddy during rainy season which makes going to school and attending church a bit hard.  I worked out all necessary approvals with concerned agencies stated and now the project has come to reality, after a long wait.

Running is Always Fun

Everybody’s undeniably crazy heating and firing it up with summer activities especially if we are talking about beaches, getaways, tanning and athletic summer sports.  The heat season is indeed up-to-the-minute and so, St. Williams Institute Alumni headed by Mrs. Eva Pascua Tadique took it a notch by giving it a different kind of twist and gave us Fun Run happened last April 25, 2011 as part of SWI Grand Global Reunion.  Over one hundred (100) participated and went for a long run in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.  The event was heavily supported by the VGent Foundation, Inc. and Ilocos Youth Football Association (IYFA).

SWI CPR Training

The SWI Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training with Sir John Garcia was part of our Grand Global Reunion activities.  John studied in SWI for a year before he migrated to the US.  When he was still in the US, John emailed me asking whether SWI would accept said training for 2 to 3 hours.  Of course the school was so glad.  It was scheduled for the Elementary and High School teachers, CAT students, student council and some selected students from all class levels.

It was a very educational, informative and exciting training since everyone was given a chance to try to save lives through the six mannequins used to see whether our CPR exercises were correct or not.  I beleive this exercise is indeed a need of the times as we are experiencing lots of natural calamities as well as diseases that would attack a person's state of health and wellness anytime.

SWI Fun Run

Please join the SWI FUN RUN scheduled on April 25,2011 at 5 oclock in the morning.  You can now register at SWI, Planet Sports, or go directly to Mr. Giovanni Ulanimo, Ma'am Rhea Garcia, Mrs. Aida Garcia, Mr.Robert Jaramilla and Silver Ceria.  Registration fee is only 50 pesos.  You can now get your race bibs as you register.  Please dont lose them!

Souvenir Program - SWI Global Reunion 2011

January 31, 2011 was the original deadlineof submission for our souvenir advertisements as was suggested by the souvenir program chair, but because the committee hasn't received much yet that would be enough for our planned projects and for the global reunion, we decided to move the original deadline to the middle of march 2011.

There are pledges but their payments haven't been received yet and also their page layout.  So please help us collect their page layout and also their payments.  The committee needs to have them both. Warm Greetings of Peace & Prosperity!

This is to update you with the total developments of our upcoming SWI Grand Global Reunion scheduled on April 24, 25 & 26, 2011.

• Batch coordinators started planning last April 11, 2009 & every month thereafter.  All meetings were coordinated with SWI & the President of SWI Alumni Association – Engr Flor Velasquez. These are the highlights of meetings last 2009 to 2010.
• Batch coordinators considered the original schedule of Dec. 2010 taken during the last general assembly but because of clamor for williamites overseas worldwide as well as williamites in the country that on Dec, it is hard to get a vacation & flights as well as travel fares are high,there was a motion to put into vote Dec 2010 & April 2011.  So the final schedule is April 24, 25 & 26, 2011.
